About Michael
Michael Kendrick is the principal instructor and program director
for The Rhythmhouse in Casselberry, Florida. He began dancing by the age of 9 and began teaching at 14 in Wellington, Kansas.
at "The Studio" School of Dance and Gymnastics a family owned business. He became a certified aerobics instructor
through the American Heart Association by age 15 and a member of Dance Masters of America, Dance Educators of America and
Southern Teachers of Dance. He performed, directed and or produced in over 50 productions by the age of 17.
Michael
continued training and teaching while serving as an infantry paratrooper at Ft. Benning and Ft. Bragg. While at Ft.
Bragg he toured nationally in Grease as Sonny
LaTierrie and 1776 as Cesar Rodney. Michael trained independently with personal coaches
most of his life; however, he focused his studies at North Carolina School of Arts as a Ballet major and with Stan Rogers
from Friends University.
In Los Angeles Michael Became a certified personal trainer with Holiday Health Spas and
later Ballies. Touring China in 1985 as choreographer, soloist and singer for the first international tour from the United
States, he was privileged to train the Shanghai Ballet in break dancing and American swing.
Michael has taught
movement for actors, dance for non-dancers, fitness, social and competitive dance for numerous universities, public
and private institutions. Michael Works with corporations designing programs to build synergy, develop sales, increase enthusiasm
and promote internal partnership. He has trained ice skaters, golfers, football players and soccer players. He was with Fred
Astaire Dance Studios for over 10 years where he tested in International and American Style through Supreme Gold.
In 2007 Michael added Registered Yoga Teacher to his repertoire. " The yoga made all the difference in my students.
